Spouse ended up liking it so well that we had to get two since I won't share. This little tool allows me to do jobs I'd never thought of doing in the past. Great tool that has stood the test of time. Purchased this five years ago originally to use in spaces where a nail gun wouldn't fit but like it so well that have continued to use in many other capcities. It's safer than a nail gun (although my better half insists the danger with a nail gun is stupidity rather than actual risk.why chance it though)., fits almost everwhere and makes short work of all kinds of nails both large and small.
It's also easier than trying to hammer in a small space and you don't have to worry about bent nails. I ordered this and thought it might not be the best because I wanted a deal. Just be careful when the nail is almost completely in don't push too hard or you will leave a mark in the wood, finish with a nail set. I recommend this product to a novice or expert carpender. I found it easy to use, just pushing slightly down on a nail drives it like butter. I built four wood gates using it the first weekend I had it in no time, only takes one or two nails to get used to.
There is a nice glove with the unit which improves control and reduces fatigue. I noticed at least one other reviewer had this problem as well. I had to be careful as i didn't want to damage the nailer, thankfully no damage was done.
It has a bullet proof case with compartmentalized storage for all the accessories. I bought and fitted a swivelling air adaptor and it reduced hose drag and improved manouverability, especially up a ladder or on a roof. There are three removable rings which are used to set the dept of drive, i removed all three and the nails are set flush. This is a great little nailer, plenty of power for driving even the largest of nails.
The magnetic tips in the driver heads are very weak and the first time i tried to change the head assembly i had to secure the nailer in a vise to get it off with one of the supplied spanners and a vice grips. Apart from an over tightened driver head and the weak magnitized tips this is a superb tool and i would highly reccomend it to anyone. I don't use this nailer often but at times it's the only tool for the job, especially when space is at a premium.
I've driven mostly two inch, three and a half inch and four inch nails with this nailer but i think where it really comes into it's own is when driving five, six and seven inch nails all Day long.
Well worth the price. Not needing a large nail gun, this palm nailer not only nails joist hangers great, one can also use it for regular nailing too.The nailer has plenty of power and drives the nails down faster then any other palm nailers I have used.It has got a nice leather cover that makes it easy on your hand.It comes with many attachments, even a small hammer head for auto body work if needed. The case is sturdy and has slots for all the gear.Porter-Cable quality through out.
All the nails went in smooth and as fast as I could put them up. This tool will pound any nail there is to pound. I bought this to build a fence and I used several sizes of galvanized nail.
